Trout in the Classroom, or TIC, is made up of four students: Bobbi Sue O'Brien (Senior), Makayla Tuning (Junior), Chance Cooney (Sophomore), and Megan Davis (Sophomore). Their job is to teach the fifth grade students of Cascade Elementry School to raise trout from eggs to young trout, observe and identify the life cycle stages of trout, the environmental conditions needed for trout survival in the classroom and in local streams, why clean water and coldwater conservation are important, and monitor and record aquarium water quality on a day to day basis. We present slide shows and hands-on presentations to the fifth graders which not only better their knowledge on trout, but increase interactions between high school students, and elementary students.
