One of our main problems has been finding a way to harvest large amounts of algae because we harvest around 18 gallons every three weeks. To harvest smaller amounts of algae, we let the algae sit in 6 mini-harvesting tanks we made from 1-liter bottles.(We are planning to experiment with larger settling tanks.)

We then either put the thick algae into pans or centrifuge it to separate the algae further. If we don't put the algae into the soxlet immediately, we put it in the fridge.
