Fischer's Pond

One of our goals that we have accomplished is cleaning the pond of some algae and aquatic plants. We end up cleaning the pond very efficiently in a short amount of time. WE got the west and east ends cleaned very well. We used aquatic weed cutters and aquatic rakes we obtained from a company of the Internet called Aquatic Ecosystem .com. They are very helpful and answer all of your questions quickly and with precision.

What we’ve done
Creeks

-The city dug two creeks on the east and west side of the Fisher Pond
-The advanced Biology then went through with shovels and smoothed and leveled the creeks
-Lined the creeks with a erosion barrier
-Then a waterproof barrier was laid on top
-Rocks were then hand laid to make the creeks look natural
-Then the edges of the creeks were smoothed out
Pump Installation
-Three 20ft culverts were drilled with holes for a water passage
-The culverts were placed on end in a close to 20 ft hole
-Basalt rocks were placed around the culverts so water could filter into the culverts
-Barrier was placed over rocks
-Two 5 horse power pumps were then placed in two of the culverts
Bridges
-Two bridges have been constructed
-One bridge still needs railing and both need to be stained
To Do
-We plan to install the Aquarium in spring. Plans are to be drawn by Idaho Fish and Game and approved by building inspections.
-Landscaping such as trees, bushes, grass etc. are to be added to bring character to Fischer Pond
-Underground sprinklers need to be installed, to water the plants through spring, summer, and fall.
-Electrical connections need to be set up to provide power for the pumps
-Water pipes will supply the fly-fishing pond, both creeks, and the fountain with water.
-Control box-needs to be installed by the fountain so that we can control the electricity, water flow, and the sprinkler system.
-The dock needs to be lifted and concrete slabs are to be placed underneath so it will be level, because in the spring the back end of the dock was lifted off its foundation almost 1ft.
-A ramp also needs to be built so that the dock remains handicap accessible
-Information Signs are being constructed to show the history of the pond and the butterfly habitat.
-Cover for pump culverts are needed to protect kids, animals and weather from getting inside.
-Both creeks need to be tested to see if water flows through the rocks easily.
-Apply for more grants so that we can acquire the finances to complete the plan for Fisher Pond
