Q: What is the difference between The Biocoil, Biosub,
and the Biodome? Q: Why did we decide to use the L.E.D. lights? A: W e chose the LED lights because they fit the 6 watt power requirement that Lloyd had. Q: How does this impact our lives? A: This whole project has been a lot of hard work. Long days and even longer weekends. We have also learned a lot about science, mechanics, and plumbing “ha”, from working on this project. Our trip will change us and give us a new perspective on life too. We have an opportunity to learn about a new country and the people and animals that live there. The operation of the project alone will be a new experience, which we will take home with us. Aside from the accents we will most likely pick up while we are there, we will acquire life lessons and a new way of thinking. We will learn about cultural difference and the different cultural experiences. Q: Who is Lloyd Godson? A: Lloyd Godson recently won the Australian Geographic “Live your dream” Wildest Adventure Competition for its exciting mix of education, science and adventure, The Biosub Project will see Australian marine scientist and diver Lloyd Godson survive in the world’s first self-sufficient, self-sustaining underwater habitat. Lloyd is the man who started the Biosub project and contacted us to get it done. Q: Why did we going to Australia? A: Our group went to Australia to build the Biocoil for Lloyd. We felt that communicating all of the important and intricate details over email would not be sufficient. Q: What does the Biocoil do? A: The Biocoil is a photosynthetic bioreactor that circulates algae through a series of tubes which then performs photosynthesis stimulated by the LED lights which during photosynthesis
